What steps INDIA should take??..........

"One in 10 Americans still could not find work, many businesses have shuttered and small towns and rural communities have been hit especially hard"............ statement made by U.S president Mr. Barack Obama, on 28th of jan 2010, at his first state of the union address against a backdrop of an American public worried about the fallout.

And on the same day he announced " not to provide tax sops for the firms moving employment abroad - outsourcing" coz estimates tells that around 3.3 million American jobs will be lost to Outsourcing in 15 years ending 2015. In the U.S., outsourcing means firing full-time workers and shipping their jobs to a less developed country where wages are lower and labor laws are more lax and one of the fastest-growing destinations for outsourced jobs is none other than the U.S.

But for INDIA the situation will get worsen with such announcement by American president. More than 660 multinational companies each bring business worth more than US$1 million (euro820,000) annually to India, where hourly software development rates range between US$18 (euro14.72) and US$26 (euro21.26). India controls 44 percent of the global offshore outsourcing market of software and back-office services. The article indicates that as many as 400 of the Fortune 500 companies either have their own centers in India or are currently outsourcing work to Indian technology companies.

But i feel the main issue here to ponder or to be worried for is, 'INDIA' being in a similar situation of jobless employees or even worse for more than 5 decades, never took a step like this ever....... :(

Will INDIAN politicians, instead of just starting of with new charity fund every time, god knows where their money goes, ever able to take such steps to improve condition of jobless and poor people in INDIA and what u suggest those steps should be??//....

I dint get your point to ponder.
As for the funds,we have all the required funds and required schemes but like you said we never know where the fund goes.
There should be accountability on the part of government.
There should be regular review of the cost/benefit achieved.
I don't know if utilisation of fund is covered under RTI Act, if it is then RTI Act is a very powerful tool to make the government for efficient.

yes i agree on the fact that we were making schemes, different relief funds but the result of these schemes and relief funds is not hidden from us....

i want ppl to think over the solution to this problem differently..

the one thing i want to suggest is ....
"restrict the graduates from IITs and post graduate from IIMs to leave the country immediately after their studies"..... if not more, there should be min of 5years bond with them to serve the country.... help INDIA to grow....

I don't support your point. It's like we are setting our T&C on the students. We are restricted their right to freedom, right to life. If the graduates really care about then they themself should no go at once place. We cannot enforce nationalist feeling.
Even if we have a contract to serve the country for 5 years then their productivity would decrease as we are forcing them. Efficiency and innovation can only be achieved if their is willingness to work not if it is done by force.
Lookingfor your reply.

Banka had guessed it already and he was right. I stand against his point.

Primary (not only) motive of a business is to make profits and one way of increasing it is decreasing the costs. If outsourcing is restricted by the U.S, the corporates based there will be at loss. It is understandable that India too would be at loss.

As for similars steps that may be taken, the one specified above isnt wise. India should instead take steps to make the country more attractive location for such professional which will not only help it retain indegenous talent but also attract foreign professionals.

@ preet:- right to freedom dude.... i must tell u if the government start charging them the actual cost spent on them for their studies not even 20% will able to continue with their studies... and ya rightly said enforcing them to work here but y???/// y can't we give priority to our nation instead of us or our family... even when somewhere in our heart we know 'INDIA' needs us and its time to give back that too in multiples of what we got.......
the saddest part is we still fell restricted working here... and me telling you most of us work here just coz we have to.... not coz we want to...... :(

@karan:- more attractive location dude.... do you think if we as 'Indians' never want to be in INDIA the others will..and secondly neither an outside nor uneducated, poor and jobless 'Indians', that share the majority of population, will take the initiative to make our country attractive..its u, me and hundred of sooo called IIT's n B-school students who have to work realliii hard to make it attractive.. that too by true feeling and not by enforcement..

and yes, i know that removing tax sops from outsourcing companies won't benefit America much... but its the initiate that matters... the decision he took for jobless Americans....

can we??......

everybody will have to play a role to make India a better destination. But a more significant role would be at the hands government. there are many jobs that are necessary but the best ppl dont go for it because of the remunerations. you can impose ppl to work here, but you cant impose them to work at their best until you make these jobs attractive.

We know India needs us but from childhood we are told India is bad, that there is so much corruption, politics is played to achieve goals. eg.Kiran Bedi was not given the post of Commissioner of Delhi but insteasYS dadwal was promoted where we know that he was her junior.

Recently if u have read, NRI from US was given a important org post in some department, but he resigned after i think 3 or 4 months because of lack of professionalism.

So u tell how can u expect students to work here??
